SUMMARY:Gastvortrag |  Francisco Cruces: Rethinking Music through Intimacy
DESCRIPTION:This talk summarizes a few ethnographic findings on the study of intimacy\, interrogating how to apply them in the study of musical life. I will focus on intimacy as a spatial\, social and poetic phenomenon where presence\, joy\, moral economy\, fragility\, and revelation are prominent traits. These ideas emerged during the filming in Madrid\, México City and Montevideo of the documentary The Order I Live in. An indoor urban symphony. I will propose four poetic dispositives (displacement\, closure\, signature and resonance) as formative processes common both to intimacy-making and to music-making.
